Sharps Disposal Program
SCPH has established a Sharps Disposal Program for residents in Summit County to safely collect and dispose of used and unwanted sharps. Sharps by definition are used medical needles and other sharp medical instruments, such as IV catheters or needle/syringe units.
Summit County residents can participate in this program by bringing in full
sharps containers for disposal to Summit County Public Health at either the Graham Road location or the Barberton location. Residents can also purchase new empty sharps containers at these locations.
Summit County Public Health is open from 8:00am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. There is a cost of $5.00 to dispose of full sharps containers and an additional charge of $5.00 to purchase a new 5-quart sharps container.
